Festival Time!

At this year's Festival, Madeleine was more interested in getting down and dirty.... playing in the mud kitchen a the Royal Mile Play day.

Having fun at the Udderbelly..  Mummy's favorite show was Santa Needs a Wee...

Madeleine was developing a real interest in Princesses!

Madeleine is 2!

Madeleine had a birthday party at home with all her friends, complete with a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Birthday cake, balloons and games.   Everyone brought presents, and by the end of the day Madeleine had caught on that presents might be quite nice.  She was initially a bit skeptical it all, and most unimpressed with the idea of sharing her Mickey Mouse toys!

Then for her actual birthday we managed to see all 5 grandparents across 2 countries, starting with coffee and cake in Luton, and finishing up with Birthday cake (made by Granddad) for Madeleine's and Kat's shared birthday in Lorgues.   What a busy day.

We went to Croatia!

We flew to Dubronik, and spent a couple of days hanging out in the sunshine, walking through the marble streets and eating copious amounts of ice-cream, before heading north to Orebic and Korcula, where the sea was perfect blue and warm.  Madeleine and Mummy especially enjoyed the sea food, the amazing cherry jam and the sandy beaches with bath-warm water at Lumbardo.

First Hair Cut!

 Knowing I might be a trifle nervous, Mummy took me to the posh hairdressers in Morningside High Street.  They don't just have seats, they have hobby horses to sit on, and Cbeebies to watch whilst you have your hair cut.  I really enjoyed sitting on the horse, and it was all going swimmingly, until I realised that woman was coming at me with a scissors.  I have to say, I was rather inconsolable.  This is the end result anyway...  gorgeous, aren't I?

Modern Art Gallery

We went to the Modern Art Gallery and they had an exhibition about Death.  It made no sense to me, and I was astounded to find this.  None of us knew what it meant.  I quite liked a flying scuplture of a dog/duck combined animal.  I might go again.

Visiting Granddad and Gran Kat

We went to visit Granddad and Gran Kat in the South of France again.  

Even though I am only a beginner walker (with a mere six months walking experience) I managed to make it most of the way round the woodland walk by the Monastery this time - Mummy only had to piggy back me for the last mile!  I especially liked the exercise equipment on the way round, and very independently climbed up to the top of this, and howled when I was dragged away.

Other newly acquired tastes were the beach - which is just fabulous now I have figured out this sandcastle building business - the swimming pool, which is there to throw your boats into and pizza.  

Hobby Horse

Apparently my Mummy is prone to hobby horses, but this is my first one.  We bought it on Princess Street, and I insisted on riding it home.  I think I'm rather good already.
